If you right click the image in the web page itself, it comes up as 450X317 pixels(
scaled and blurred ) ,while opening it in new tab restores it to 729X513 (unblurred original size).

Message was edited by: piyushsingh for adding snips

Hi Piyush,

Well, I did what you suggested, I right-clicked on your Snip, which opened the usual menu, however the Open Link, Open Link in New Tab, Open Link in New Window and a couple others were totally grayed out.

Sooo, I wasn't able to open and view it in a new Tab/window.

Back to the drawing board! :_|

@ adama and tech4me : I guess you both are using IE7. Right click and save picture as will do it for you.

I agree with flashorn , you should consider a switch .

OK, both of you , Adama and Tech4me, This is what you will see in Firefox when you right click on a image

in the forum threads:

Posted Image

The first tab , which is now in red is called "view image" and when you click on that tab

your picture viewer, be it "Windows Photo Gallery" or whatever it might be, will come up and resize

the image for you and you will be able to

see it very clearly.

But , seriously , it's time to think about em brassing "Firefox".

This is a 3-in-1 answer:
= Tech4me, yeah, that's the same thing that happens to me, the top 4 or 5 rows are grayed out and you can't click on them. So you can't Open as New Tab, nor Open as New Window, etc.

= Piyush, what you suggest takes a lot more steps and a lot more time. That's not what I really want to do when I'm just trying to view a Snip.

= Flashorn, you guys have been trying to get me to switch to FF for a loooooong time now. Sorry, my friend, I guess I'm just loyal to what I know, which is IE7. :D

Hey Adama!!

What is it with you and Firefox?

You should know by now, that we would certainly not recommend a product or

a program that would be harmful.

The simple fact is, that , IE7 IS more harmful to your notebook than Firefox

will ever be.

Have you even given it a chance.

You certainly would not be disappointed.

Do you like the bland grayish color of IE7. Well, you can get that in Firefox as well.

But what you will get with Firefox is a very safe browser plus all of the colors that you can imagine .

There are numerous add-ons to make your browsing more efficient not to mention allot

more enjoyable.

Everything is at hand be it music or pictures. The one that I really like is called

" CoolIris Previews " . With this one you just mouse over a link , a little blue square will

pop-up at the end of the link , you put your pointer on the square and the page for that link opens

up in the same page that you are looking at . This way you don't have to open a new tab.

When you are finished with that page , simply mouse away and the page disappears.

You are now still on the same page that you started off with.

That's what I call efficient. No wast of time.

Anyways, (heck I'm starting to feel like a salesperson here) give it a chance,

Nothing is left on your notebook when and IF you uninstall.

If you need to find extra add-ons , just ask . You will not be disappointed.

Adama - i would like to clear up a few things things a bit before all gets mixed up.

First , the way that i suggested to view scaled snips in IE7 may be long but it is the only way it can be done in IE7. Though it can be viewed with single clicks in FF and opera , I m not saying go to FF as you like IE7, so stick to IE7.

More important thing - the blurred snips. Have a look at the above snip.(Do rt click, save picture one more time, plz ). I took it using the faststone that tech4me has been using for his clear snips. But you can see it also is blurred. The reason is that i captured it greater than 600X450 pixels. Its not the screen capture utility you use but the size that matters. Like i said before it will be blurred with other utilities also if it exceeds that pixel size.

Hey Piyush!!

Now you should explain how to lower the resolution of the capture.

This way all who are viewing this thread would understand how to do it.

Maybe a few screen shots with different pixel size.

How are you filling your days now that school is out?

hi flash

lowering the resolution of capture - just take lesser area into the rectangular capture area and the images will be of lower resolution. Its actually the area that is being captured . for example - my screen resolution is 1280X1024 pixels , if i take a full screen snip or use prtscr key to get a full screen capture , the image will come out to be 1280X1024 pixels. So just tale lesser area for capture.

See the above snip comes crystal clearas it was created less than 600X450 pixels. :-)

I hope this helps.

Thankx Piyush!!

I'm sure this will help people understand why their screen shots come out blurry

and now how to resolve this .

[~71480] & Flash. Thanks for the tip....The reason I keep the format in PNG because It looks nicer when I need screenshot for all purpose Not PCW only,

Now I can set to JPG to keep it low Resolution....Look at this....:(NOW THIS IS JPG) Again I like it because Its so Easy and simple to use.

I know your snip with FF is Great too, But I'm so use to Faststone...(Sorri.... If I some how Offended you guys...Just like to Kid around..to make day goes by easier)

Thanks again.

hey [~110135]
Absolutely no problem .I don't think that would offend anyone here, we all always help each other. Whether you use faststone or the snipping tool, its totally user's preference. In the end they are meant to do the same thing. They have similar problems as far as blurred images are concerned.

And as far as browsers are concerned (sorry adama if this seems to be a bit off topic) , again its one freedom to use what suits you best. You and adama are using IE7 and are happy with its performance , then its fine. Flash and most others on this forum use FF . Me on the other hand use opera instead as i like it more than other browsers. The fun stuff, the smileys, and the general talk section is what keeps this forum alive.
