[~71480] . I tried to set Faststone capture to 600/450 as you said.....Dawn thing won't let me...Because I use a Free Version.
But I can roughly estimate the limit when I snip.....just to close to 600/450.....actually as long as I can keep it around 450 Vert. It should be clear.

Again....Thank you for trying so hard to explain ( Time to time you will see one thats not so Bright like me) . Look at my sample...:

h5. THIS IS ALL OFF TOPIC =

Hey Adama!!

What is it with you and Firefox?

You should know by now, that we would certainly not recommend a product or

a program that would be harmful.

The simple fact is, that , IE7 IS more harmful to your notebook than Firefox

will ever be.

Have you even given it a chance.

You certainly would not be disappointed.

Wow, I'm starting to feel a lot of negative, angry vibes coming from you, Flashorn.

When you and a few other members of PCW were reluctant and unwilling to accept Vista, I never came down on you, because I know that everyone has a right to choose what they want.

You didn't go to Vista until Vista came to you via a new laptop, and now you're liking it, right? You didn't hear me say I told you so nor anything like that. So, can you please accept that I like IE7, which in spite of all its quirks has worked well for me?

I absolutely know without a shadow of a doubt, that you wouldn't steer me wrong, however, if (and that's a big IF) and ever I decide to change to FF, it will be on my own time, not because someone is !http://forums.pcworld.com/legacyimages/
1! on my head.

Thanks for understanding where I'm coming from.

h5. NOW, BACK ON TOPIC:
Piyush, I FINALLY GOT IT!!! PCWorld's server squishes the pics if they are greater than 600x450!!!

That's probably what happened when I posted a Graphic for Smax on the Doggie Thread #2, the pic looked squished. And it shouldn't have been squished because it looked fine in my Picture folder, and in my PB account, and in the HTML link that I gave Smax! I think the size for that pic was 525X--- I forget, so it was well within PCW guidelines and it really shouldn't have been squished. But I think I remember Kellie saying something about the sizes, IDK, IDR too well.

So, I can go ahead and get another Screencapture program if I want, but if that screencap is bigger than 600x450, then it's gonna look squished too! X-( grrrrrr

BTW, I went ahead and did what you suggested: I right-clicked your sample Snip, then chose "Save picture as" and then opened it in my Photo folder and I was able to read it okay.

So your first assessment was correct. That's more work than I really care to do, but if I really want to read a Snip that has been squished, then that's a good option to have.

Thanks for your patience, Piyush.

:-)
So will you be keeping the snipping tool now ?

There is a way to get larger snips in the forum without getting blurred. I wont tell that coz it will be against the standards here i think . hehe And i dont want to get this from any of the mods. !http://forums.pcworld.com/legacyimages/

Ha ha ha, I heard that!!!

Yeah, I'll be keeping my Snipping Tool, but I think I'm still going to try another program that allows me to do other stuff as well. IDK which one yet, though.

As a long time Windows and IE user I was reluctant to go to Firefox. After FF2 came out and everyone was singing it's praises, I dedided to give it a try. At first I didn't like it because I had already gone to IE7, and opening a new tab in FF took two clicks and IE7 took one. There are things I like better in IE7 and things I like better in FF. At first I used IE7 about 80% of the time and FF about 20%. Now those percentages have changed.

FF seems more senisitve to timing on connecting to a website. If if get a server error in FF, I open IE and about 20% of the time it will get through, but it may just be timing.

Hi RGreen,

Thank you for your sensible response. Did you have any problems with Your Favorites? and what about your email, were you able to continue using your usual email program?

It's been a while since I installed it, but if I remember correctly, it went out and imported the IE7 favorites (FF calls them bookmarks) without disturbing them. Of course now, there are differences and when you add a new one to one browser, it does not transfer to the other. In fact for those on XP with IE6, if you had Firefox and then installed IE7 it brings forth the IE6 favorites, but not the FF bookmarks.

The email programs (Outlook Express or whatever) is totally separate. Some who run Firefox also run Thunderbird which at one time was supported by the Mozilla Foundation, but not now (it has been spun off on it's own). I have never converted to it. I use Earthlink Web Mail which means the messages are available to me on any machine connected to the internet. When the mailbox starts filling up (I currently have 73% of 100MB used), I download them into Outlook Experess on my old desktop with XP Pro. One of these days I will move them to another machine, install the Vista upgrade and convert them to Windows Mail.

Hi Adama. Since it appears that your original Discussion has been resolved, can you create a new Discussion based on the new situation, to Firefox or not to Firefox. :D

Hey Adama!!

WOW! I was away for a little while and when I checked my mail, this popped up.

I'm really sorry you mistook my post as offensive . This was absolutely not my intention.

I was merely trying to exude the virtues of Firefox and explain the different configurations

you could have along with better security.

I was trying to hard maybe to convince you but, never my intention to push into something

that you don't want. This, you should know by now.

I only had your best interest and safety at heart .

No Bad Vibes.

Are we good.

FLASHORN.

PS> MPH , I had to make amends.

Oh no no no no, Flashorn, not offensive. It was not that at all, just that I was starting to feel you were getting angry with me for choosing IE7 instead of FF.

Anyway, MPH thought it would be better to start a new thread on the FF subject, so I did.

And, of course we're GOOD, TRE BIEN, as always.
