HELP!
I hav just recently scanned some virus on my xp with my trusted antivirus(nothing wrong with that because it worked 4 me for ages). It told me 2 restart, and when i did, BOSD kept on showing up just when my pc loads.
I tried going to safe mode, but my keyboard won't work (it never did. nothing wrong with the software or the installation because the same thing happened when i bought a new keyboard. (they only worked when pc showed the logon screen.)
so im stuck, and i need my computer 2 work or i'll get fired! (scream!) D'=
i cant fix it myself because im a total beginner =(
If u know how 2 fix my 2 problems, i'll be very greatful.
(plz email me cause i dont know how to work this pc world thing...)
sob
ps. i think its cause i deleted some stuff i shouldn't hav, cause i remembered similar problem happening when i scan virus, although not as serious as this

Hi Elvarg and welcome to the PCWorld Communities. :D
Okay, first, please take a deep breath and try to relax. Now, the most important piece of information we need to troubleshoot this situation is the error message from the Blue Screen of Death (BSoD).
Now, if my assumption is correct, you are going to state that the Blue Screen came and went away too fast for you to get the information from the screen. If that is correct, please follow these steps to keep the message on the screen the next time you see it:
- Right Click on My Computer and select Properties
- Click on the Advanced tab
- Under the Startup and Recovery section, click on Settings
- Under the System Failure section, remove the check mark in the box next to Automatically restart
- Click OK twice to close the section
This will give us a starting point. Now, the keyboard issue may be a separate issue; however, you really did not go into any detail about that. Normally, we ask for members to only post one issue per Discussion. That being said, please post the error message information from the Blue Screen and we can proceed from there.

yes! i got it:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen,
restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow
these steps:
Run a system diagnostic utility supplied by your hardware manufacturer.
In particular, run a memory check, and check for faulty or mismatched
memory. Try changing video adapters.
Disable or remove any newly installed hardware and drivers. Disable or
remove any newly installed software. If you need to use Safe Mode to
remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select
Advanced Statup options, and then select Safe Mode.
Technical information:
STOP: 0x
and the words fade away...yes! i got it:

that is the general message that you get on a blue screen. The important part was the Technical information : STOP 0X and the remaining error code. This povides a start as to what the problem is. So post the exact error code.
Follow mph's prvious post to make the blue screen message stay there till you note down the error code.
If you cant log in windows , then use a camera or something to get the eror code.

your BSoD error code really isnt there. Havent seen such BSoD before. So we cant diagnose from the bsod information.
Have you tried getting into the safe mode ? You say that the keyboard doesnt work before the window starts loading , then how can you attempt to get into safe mode. You need to press the F8 key before the window loads to get into the safe mode. Also if keyboard is not recognised before windows starts to load, then you cant even get into BIOS settings . Is that true in your case ?
Plug in a different keyboard and try getting into safe mode .

Okay, this is very odd. As Aurora and Piyush both pointed out, the BSoD message you see is general at best. I have never seen a BSoD message that just provided the basic information and left out the important information.
As Piyush referenced, you indicated that your keyboard does not work. I believe you also mentioned that you tried another keyboard and that keyboard did not work as well. Do you have any USB devices connected to this computer? If so, please disconnect all of them. That would include printers, cameras, etc. Once all are disconnected, try again.
If that does not work, and as Piyush mentioned, you cannot get into Safe Mode, we will have to investigate more options. If you do not know how to get into Safe Mode, please follow the steps outlined in this Document {document:id=1093}.

Have you tried to disconnect all USB devices?
You initially stated that you needed this computer to work or you would be fired. Is this a work computer or your personal computer that you use for work purposes? If this is a company computer, I would strongly advise you not to do anything at this point but take it to your IT department to see what may or may not be the issue.
If this is your own computer, a reinstall should be a last resort. We will continue providing you with suggestions.
