Hi MagicDash. Do not give in so quickly. There are two responses since my last response that you may not have seen. Please review them and see if you get the same results. I believe you said someone will be able to look at your computer tomorrow. If so, please let us know the outcome.

I have asked my local technician for help and I was told to backup everything stored in my computer. However, the backup shows no sucess so I contacted my technician again. This time,he said the only way to solve this "open with" window is to start everything from scratch-I will have to give up.

It does seem like you are coming to the end of your rope. What exactly did you use to back to try and back up your files? Do you have temporary access to a second computer?

I backuped up everything long time ago before I have this problem.I used GoodSync but it failed to backup. And the sad news,I do not have any temporary access to a second computer.I only have one computer.Oh well, starting everything from scratch is the only option left and it can solve my problem-I guess I will have to give up all hope.

I think you are giving up a bit early. {user:username=SpiritWind} suggested to do an online scan . Have you tried that ?

Hi MagicDash. Well, if the website does not support online scans through Opera, then use Internet Explorer. I agree with Piyush. You are giving up way too easily and jumping to a conclusion that could lead you down the wrong path.

Almost all online scanners require activeX control , neither Opera nor Firefox support activeX as its a msft thing available only in IE. So as MPH said, use internet explorer.

I am unable to use IE since this "open with" problem is affecting all my applications. When I try to open Internet Explorer,my computer freezes and I will have to restart my computer.Right now,I am really stumped and truly foxed with this "no-solution" problem.
