As of 3:37 EDT, I could not get addons.mozilla.org (The Add-on site). I did get FireFox 3 :)

I downloaded Fire Fox from the Mozilla site twice this afternoon with no problems. One for my laptop and the other for my desktop. Good fast download using a 5 MB cable modem connection.

I updated my 3 pcs with the new firefox 3 and it works great. Firefox developers keep up the great work. MS keep pushing your junk products.
Thanks, rttr6

I just downloaded Firefox 3 within a matter of a few seconds and installed it with no problem. So far, it looks pretty much identical to Firefox 2 except for some graphical icon changes.

It's 7:38 pm EDT and the server problems are NOT fixed. It's impossible to get into the Mozilla website right now. Download day was a clever idea and they really handled it badly. Somebody should be fired. They should have provided more details. And they should have lined up more server capacity. I've seen this before. Everybody gets excited about THE BIG IDEA! Nobody bothers to think things through (or if they do, they get told they are being "negative" and shut up).

The only issues I've had were getting the extension site to load. Firefox itself downloaded just fine and is currently on 3 of my computers, and will be added to the 4th as soon as my wife is off hers. (Yes, I'm going to the website to download it instead of installing it through my network.) The site may have had issues early, but it seems to be doing fine and, at last look, had over 2 million downloads.

Tried the beta version a couple of weeks ago and it crashed my iMac. That known Mac bug has been fixed and I was able to D/L FF3 this afternoon. It's working very well--extremely fast and slick.
So far, I'd say it's the best browser out there. Try it!

Not only did I have no issues whatsoever with the upgrade, I didn't even notice it.
When did it actually take place? I don't even remember restarting it since RC5. I just checked the "about" and I'm up to date.

and oh yeah... after a month of using 3, and finally seeing it stop crashing, can with confidence say:

best
browser
ever.

I recognize that I lose 5 geek points by posting this comment.

Is there any way to get Firefox 2?

Too many of the sites I use don't work on Firefox 3 as they did with Firefox 2.

I uninstalled 3 and decided to give Opera a try. I use IE as my primary browser, but I like to use other browsers in certain situations, no I am not talking about porn.

I would wait on FF3 for now. About 50% of the sites I visited don't work, and the problem is primarily with javascript support. Not sure if FF3 missed web standard or sites like ebay just cant properly code, but just about everything is broken in FF3.

If you are looking to go back to 2, I found this link.

In my opinion 3 should still be in beta.
