Hi Classy and welcome to the PCWorld Communities. :D
First, since your question is related to monitors, I have moved this Discussion from the Desktop Community into the Other Hardware Community.
Now, yes, CRT Monitors are a dying breed. I do not know enough about the reasons why some applications work better when using a CRT monitor than when using a LCD monitor so I will not try to sway your decision.
This Community highly recommends newegg.com for all computer related purchases. Here are two CRT monitors over 19":
NEC Display Solutions AS120-BK Black 21" CRT Monitor
ViewSonic E90FB Black 19" CRT Monitor (Open Box)

Sorry I asked in the wrong forum thanks for your help I've used New Egg for years
unfortunately they appear to only have 17 " monitors left really do not want an open box
and don't have the space for a 21 inch
did find a new one. View Sonic for 204$ should say my husband did
Thanks for your help
I wouldn't mind an LCD if it had the quality for graphics. tried 2 LCD's just won't
handle the clarity for Web Designing and Graphics if you know a good one sure let me know
Thanks again sorry for the mis post newbie here :)

Classy - I think one of the problems is not really the native clarity but the matte finish that most LCD monitors have. I just purchased a new HP 24" (w2408h) with dual inputs (VGA and HDMI) with the BrightView screen. This is the glossy screen now seen on almost all laptops and is on Plasma TV's. I had a 22" matte monitor before and the new version is also available in a 22" wide version (w2207h) with similar specs (the resolution of the 22" is 1680x1050 and the resolution of the 24" is 1920x1200). Both monitors rotate so that you can show the image in the landscape or portrait positions, much handier for word processing than anything else.
The next time you are near a computer store slip in and look at them. Other companies are coming out with these now as well, so it may change your viewpoint in the future when you have to replace the 19" you just bought.

You can get excellent LCD monitors for graphics professionals, but like their CRT counterparts, they're very expensive. I still have my Sony GDM-C520 CRT unit, which cost me $1700 several years ago. It isn't as sharp as it was when new, but is still clearer than any consumer level CRT unit I've ever seen. Starting prices for professional graphics monitors are around the $1200 range, and can go as high as several thousand dollars. If the price doesn't scare you, check out the EIZO ColorEdge CG222W at around $1400.
