Jive (the company that makes the community software) has indicated that Clearspace 2.1 (the version of the software we are waiting for) will be released in July or August. I don't know exactly when we will upgrade, but it obviously won't be before the software is released. :)
And yes, we will give you plenty of notice. I always give as much notice as possible when we have a planned outage of the community. (Obviously, I can't give you advanced notification of an UNplanned outage.)
I appreciate these suggestions, but very few of them will be immediately implementable. Most of the things you are asking for are changes to the software itself, which is something that we don't control. You are welcome to make this wish list, and I'll keep it on hold in case we are asked by Jive for suggestions for the next version of the software. What I'm saying is, just because we don't implement your suggestions doesn't mean we aren't listening and don't care about improving your experience. We do, we're just able to re-write someone else's software.

Above is one example, Adama. Note the envelopes and that two of them have an arrow coming down and pointing left from the top of those envelopes. Those headings are ones that alert me that I have posted in them.
And, I still don't get how to edit the above link to a "click here" thing, sigh.

Hi knifeblade
If you are using rich text , then highlight the word that needs to be hyperlinked and then click on the insert link button (just left to the insert image button) . Rest should be easy.
If on plain text , enclose the word that needs to be hyperlinked with square brackets i.e [ ] . In the brackets just after the word to be hyperlinked , add a piping symbol i.e | and then the link address and it will be done.
Hope this helps. :)

Here's another one.
WISHLIST =
Show the number of comments on a Document on the right hand side, just like they do on a Blog.
This list is getting long-ish.... I hope Kellie doesn't !http://forums.pcworld.com/legacyimages/

HA HAA, I think this is the first time that I reply to my own post!!
I thought of a couple other things about Documents I'd like to see.
WISHLIST - I also want to have EDIT and DELETE buttons on the Documents, just like we have on the Blogs.
AND - When you write a Document, make it easier to edit it. So it doesn't have to go back to MPH for a simple, one word edit.
Ouch, why you do that for? I told you, I'm too busy, don't bother me any more! *
EDIT ~ The 2nd wish has been addressed by Kellie (see her post below) and it's therefore cancelled.

LOL you aren't creating work for me. You're creating work for the people who write the software. :)
The document approvals are an all or nothing system. They all get approved or they all go unapproved. We switched to an unapproved system for a while, but it resulted in a lot of bogus documents that took the mod team a long time to clean up. So we went back to an approver system. It's a bit of a pain, but on the average, it's less of a pain than the other way.

1! Ciao, Kristina!
WISHLIST = I would like to see some of the Member Status Level changed:
New Member and Enthusiast = Actually, those are pretty cool, I think they should stay as they are. IMO
Instead of just plain Member = Junior Member
Instead of Old Hand = Senior Member
Instead of Veteran = Well, I tried really hard, but I couldn't find anything in my Dictionary/Thesaurus that would top Veteran.
~ ~ :^0 ~ ~
So what do you think, guys? Feel free to post your wishes on this Wishlist for PCWorld!
Thanks :D

One thing i want to see is a notification when there are problems on the server side.
Every now and then i'll loose a really good post on the forums b/c of a system error
When system errors are reported, a notification/note should appear by the post message button (it would be nice if the post button was disabled until the errors are worked out)
