Hey Adama, Yeah, I like that Signature. If you haven't already gotten the genie I'd be disappointed. :D What I was thinking was that stuff that was created in PP10 may not work well when transferred to the HP for print out. I haven't tried to use anything other than the HP utilities, so I don't know how others interact with HP. coastie

Hey rg, Adama has the 02 cartridges, same as what I have in here, or at least I think so as it is a C4180 ( mine is a C5180 and uses the 02's) coastie

I have a Photosmart C6180 AIO that uses them as well as well as a Photosmart 8250 printer (only) that is in the closet. I bought the C6810 to get a scanner as my old Scanjet is not supported by Vista. They use the Canon ink system. Adama's uses a black and tri-color cartridges. For photo printing she can replace the black with a gray (according to the HP website's ink finder). The C5180, C6180, C7180 and C8180 all use the same ink cartridges.

That's a good idea, RGreen. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks Coastie. I'll go get genie after I finish my post here.

I do understand what you're saying. It may be possible that PP10 has another way of sending the photos to my printer, and that's the reason why it's not looking so good when I print from my Pictures Folder. So I will do a bit of research on that, probably tomorrow.

And thanks for the compliment on my new sig. :D

Hi Adama, It may be nothing, but I have this thing gnawing at me that says that maybe the PP10 thing doesn't play well with HP or vice Versa. coastie

Hi again, everybody!

Sorry for the absence for the past couple of days.

Today I had to do another run of prints, so I tried remaking the business card on another, smaller, photo editing program that I have. And the prints still came out fuzzy from that other program.

So I went back to the original program PhotoPlus 10 and remade the whole thing, again.

I went to print and the copies were fuzzy! Again!

Then I saw something that piqued my attention. When I ordered the print from my printer, I noticed that there is menu that says PAPER TYPE, and it always said Automatic. So I checked the menu and there's a pulldown menu with 25 different kinds of paper types!!!

I clicked on Other Specialty Paper and guess what?? The prints came out much, much better! Just a teeny bit of fuzzyness, not enough to be a bother.

So all the prints came out MUCH BETTER!!!

THANK YOU GUYS, for all your help and assistance. I really appreciate it.

Hi Adama, !http://forums.pcworld.com/legacyimages/
1! As you know I have an HP C5180 All-in-One, and I flat forgot all about that. Like you I have mine set for automatic and don't give it any thought. I guess you figured out your own solution, and thanks for sharing it with us. coastie

Yes...with inkjets, paper type/quality can have a BIG impact. If you do a higher grade paper, such as the so-called "linen" type papers, you can get some decent ink "wicking" in the paper fibers. Some printers can compensate some for that by specifying the paper type so that ink levels/useage is adjusted. But, the better way to deal with that many times is to use a laser printer instead of an inkjet (although, you can still get some "fuzziness" on linen type paper with lasers too).

hehe NP. It was a total group effort, I gotta tell you. :D

That was actually my last resort, because my friend and I talked about all the difficulties I was having with printing, and I had come to the conclusion that I was going to return the printer to Staples (I purchased one of those extended warranties thingys.)

I might still return it, maybe I can get one that would give me better printing quality.

Who knew...?

I certainly did not expect to have so many problems. I thought it was Win Picture folder's fault... then I thought it was the nozzles... then I thought it was my fault.... then I thought it was the paper's fault... then I thought it was my fault.... aarrgghh! every which way to Sunday, you name it I thought about it... WTH...???
