Hi Adama, how are things :)

I forgot about this thread..sorry. To answer your Q: I use Diskeeper 2008 Pro. (Also mentioned in a post I just made in another thread too). I like it much better than the Vista defragger.

FTW= F0r teh w1n as far as I am concerned :D I don't know the origin of that though. Please do explain :)

Hi CrimsonHawk,

I'm glad you're doing well. Diskeeper 2008 Pro, huh? sounds like you got a good thing going there.

FTW = F0r teh w1n, or for teh win, or for the win is correct! You win a smiling icon! :^0

I first learned about it when I joined another forum for Avatar, The Last Airbender (ATLA) and everybody was rooting, (and hoping) ATLA would win for Best Cartoon/animated Series on Nick over Spongebob... AND IT DID!!!

So it's used to root for something you feel strongly about. (and other strange words/things which I'm not going to talk about here...)

I found the information on Urban Dictionary www.urbandictionary.com for you, CH. See below.

FTW - Highly used as "for the win" usually in online games or at the end of a sentence to make it more manly. But another way it can be used is as in Fuh TuhWuh! a cool sounding for the win Roar: dude we are owning this kid ftw!
1337: ya i know man fuh tuh wuh!
Roar: wha..????
1337: nub.. u dont know what fuh tuh wuh is!!
Roar: nope =
fuh tuh wuh ftw for the win online games roar

There was more, but not relevant/appropriate for this discussion. Take care, CH.

PCW FTW!

I heard it originated in prison slang for the world. I've never heard For The Win before.

Okay, I did time my boot time, but haven't bothered with timing defrag. All I can say is that it runs to the edge of my patience limit. I think a lot depends on how many files you have on your HDD, as to how long it will take. The more files, the longer it will take. coastie

Opera is indeed awesome. It's the fastest, most user-friendly/customizable and stable browser I'ved ever used. I think it was the first to introduce tabbed browsing, mouse gestures, speed dial etc. ..other browsers have simply ripped off these features.

Been hooked on opera for the past 6 years :D and currently on 9.26. I need to move to 9.5X soon, but too lazy to download and install lol..

:^0 That thing must have had a load of files on there AND must have been nearly solid red. The last time i had anything close being that fragmented, was when i had a misinstalled processor that scrambled my mt files so bad, that after I defragged and defragged, I ended up having to do a complete reformat and reinstall as the entire file system was totally wrecked, not to mention the fact that it also wrecked the processor as far as I could tell. coastie

I he learned to do some housekeping fromtime to time from that experience. I went through the same thing with my sister years ago, although hers didn't get that bad. She learned, in fact, she gutted her case and rebuilt her computer from the MOBO on up, although she did get a little help along the way, in the form of advice. coastie

OMG, 3 days???!!!!!!! I thought mine was bad at 2 hours... LOL :^0

It's taking a lot less time now, since I've been doing it every Sunday. Today it took about 55 mins. YAY!

Of course, I don't count the time it takes for the system to check out the disks.
