Several weeks ago I downloaded the Kodak easy Share softeware update and my PC has never been the same. Now if I click on the Easy sahre icon I get a blank screen which says that the saftware is downloading. then after a minute or so an error message comes up saying that there is a "XMLparsing error" and beneath are listed 5 different invalid XML things. Then if I click on the OK it goes to a screen asking if I want to reprt this to Microsoft and then that screen closes and I am back at my desktop. then if I click again on the Kodak icon it goes through the same process. I have conatacted Kodak software for tech support and spent onme hour on two different days going through all of the steps they say will resolve the problem but no luck. Have uninstalled my Kodak Easy share program and reinstalled and still not ok. I realize that I can take this to my local computer repair place and probably get this resoved but am challenged to resolve it on my own. Being 78 and not too computer literate I need help. Any ideas? Prboably the first suggestion is that I should become a better typist. Thanks, Baldoneid

Hi, baldoneid.

I'd start by removing Easy Share as thoroughly as possible. Revo Uninstaller is an excellent program, and it's free. I recommend the portable version, which you don't have to install.

Then you could try reinstalling and reupgrading it.

Or you could consider abandoning Easy Share. I've yet to encounter software bundled with a camera that was worth the CD it was shipped on. There are plenty of other programs around for downloading and organizing your photos, many of them free. I'm partial to Windows Live Photo Gallery, even if it is from Microsoft.
