I was going to revisit Final Fantasy XII this afternoon. Well, that was short lived as my PS2 is apparantly down for the count. It starts but won't play the disks. I guess it hit the floor one time too many, as it has fallen three times. Twice it landed on a heavily caroeted flor with a pad under the carpet. The last time it was on a hardwood floor. I am looking around for an 80 gig PS3. There was a bunch at amazon, but were all third party sellers and the prices were anywhere from $539 (used) to $1000 ( new). There are a bunch of idiots out there to be sure. I was looking for a way to give some feedback, as I would have told them what they could do with their PS3. I did eventually fing two retailers that had them at the "regular" price of $499.99. I haven't ordered one as yet, but might have to while the things are still available and before some idiot buys it then runs the resale price through the roof. The reason I want an 80 Gb is for the backwards compatibility with the PS2. I got my Nephew a memory card adapter for his so he could transfer his files from the card to the HDD. I had gotten a warranty for 1 year when I bought it ( PS2 ), so that if anything happened it would be replaced with a new one. I bought it at CompUsa in June '07 and the warranty ran out last month. Oh well, we'll see what shakes out. coastie

Hey Jim, Actually it was a PS2 and it was purchased at CompUsa which is no more. I don't know if i got $130 worth of use out it or not :D . If i want to go to the PS3 and have backwards compatibility, I'll have to move quick I guess, before the vultures out there snap them (80 Gb) all up to resell at a hugely inflated price. Damn, even the used ones are going for over $500 a lot of which don't even have the original box or manuel. As I said, I did find two retailers that had some 80 Gb's in stock. coastie
