Hi Whisky. First, I believe there may be some miscommunication or confusion. Let me try and clear this up a bit. I have changed your Discussion title to give a clearer indication of your question. As mentioned previously, please be as descriptive as possible in both the heading of your Discussion as well as the post itself. Also, please do not open up multiple Discussions on the same issue. Doing some minimizes the help that the Community members can provide to you. You can simply respond to your current Discussions if you have any additional information to provide.

Now, I am not sure if I am following your issue correctly but basically your mouse is not responding the way you expect it to. Is that correct? Please answer the following questions:

- Is this a wireless mouse or a wired mouse?

- If wireless, have you checked the batteries?

- Have you tried another mouse?

- Have you tried this mouse on another computer?

Hi, this is whisky, the gray matter is not working good this morning, the pc i have upstairs is a dell e-512,512mb ram,

I changed mice to a m/s optical mouse that i know worked on another pc,mouse lights up,but thought that when you

add a item like a mouse the pc will reconize the new item, not so on this pc and it is a wired mouse.

Would it help if i increased the ram to 2mb my theory is if it had more ram it would work better with wi-fi

Okay, I had to read this Discussion again. So basically, you are trying to remotely access one computer from another computer and when you do that, the remote computer is unresponsive, correct?

Memory may be an issue; however, in the interim, have you increased the Virtual Memory of the remote computer?

Hi,this whisky, the answer to first question is this is a remote pc,i had this remote pc up and running.
Ican not get into os to do anything this a dell pc and i do not see safe-mode like the pc down stairs

so i do not see how i can get into♦vitrual memor, this pc has not been running very long so i thought

i could do a restore but that did not work very well other pc,one thing that i found on other sites was

that the hour glass is telling me that there is program possibly trying to start up.

Hey Whiskey, Have you tried to do a restart of the computer ? Don't unplug the mouse just restart the computer and see what happens. It is admittedly a shot in the dark. Also, if you want to add some ram, it wouldn't hurt, but that is your choice. As far as the computer "not working so good upstairs", it is most likely due to its location in relation to the the router. coastie65

Hi,this whisky,i found safe mode on the dell pc,this pc will for what ever reason will not start up

I even shut every thing off took down stairs and hook it up just the gateway is and still will not work

i was thinking that possible wi-fi was trying start up at start up and thats why hour glass came on

task bar and would not go away so when i took it down stairs i unistalled

I even started in safe mode still not working and whats really annoying is i had working before the

monitor went bad the only thing i saw was the power plug was unpluged.

Ieven went into internet options and made sure i had comcast as my home page.

I know it probly something i am overlooking, but i hooked the gateway back up and it came right on.

and even more annoying is the old pc that was sitting in a closet for (2) started right without a hitch

thank,s,whisky
