If you are able to do windows updates http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ then your xp is legit.

Visit this link . Click on validate windows button and let it check itself.
You should have a COA sticker pasted somewhere on the PC as it was pre-installed.
If you see the COA and need more info then navigate to this link. Follow on screen instructions.
I don't know what happens if the validate test fails but the WGA(windows genuine advantage) helps in quickly getting a validated copy of windows.

You can follow the suggestions of either Lil or Piyush to verify the validity of your Windows Operating System when you are in the internet cafe. If I may ask, why the concern? Did you purchase this computer from a third party instead of a store or the manufacturer?
