Hi , Today i was adjusting some of my wires so i could connect a fan in to my case. While doing so i had to disconnect my Front panal connectors temprarily so i could have room to do so. After installing the fan i connected back my FPCs to find my pc wont start at all.. I connected them exactly how they were before. I thought it was a power problem but the lights on my mobo are on. Just not powering on for some reason.

PC Specs:

Mobo: D975XBX2

CPU: Q6600

PSU: 500w

GPU: GTS8800

No idea what i could have done.. id really apreciate some advice.

Hey Emie,
Are the PowerButton etc LED's lighting up? If not, I would take off the front panel and check all the connections there... You may have unknowingly loosened a wire?
Did you re-connect the power cable? from the Front Panel to the PSU?
One last thought, unplug all the front panel wires again, and check the insides of the connections for dust or other blockages... Also check the mobo connections.

oooh Are the connections the right way up ? I read a post a while back about, having the wires a certain way effects whether they work or something ? Not Sure...

Just a few ideas :)

Hi Ernie and welcome to the PCWorld Communities. :D

First, I have changed your Discussion title to give a clearer indication of your question. For future reference, please be as descriptive as possible in both the heading of your Discussion as well as the post itself.

Now, AngryPigeon has provided some great starter points. I would like to confirm one of his suggestions. Since your computer is a custom build, I would double-check the motherboard manual to confirm whether or not you truly connected the wires properly. I have build enough computers to know that the single easiest thing to overlook is the proper connection of the connections to the motherboard.

With Pleasure, Ernie. Here is my motto that I like to use....paraphrased from the great law Occam's Razor....The simplest solutions are usually the best solutions. :D

If you have any further questions, please post.
