My friend didn't knew what he was doing , he always thinks he can do something , ... ah nevermind , he said he installed visual studio , then he didn't knew anything and uninstalled it , now he has an error that crashes Explorer.exe (sometimes it restarts , sometimes it needs to be manually stopped and started to desktop to show)
The error happens generally when RIGHT CLICKING on icons , and CLICKING ON PROPERTIES , sometimes it happens when normally clicking through folders

Hey stewox!!
Have you tried to do a "System Restore" to , BEFORE he installed the application?
To do this ,Go To : Start , All Programs , Accessories , System tools , System Restore.
There, you will click on the "Choose a different restore point" . From the list or dates
Choose the one point that will be "before" he installed the program.

Unfortunately , the restore points don't go enough back when Visual Studio was installed , he then restored back to the oldest point anyway , but errors still appear.
I was there recently and these errors really make windows practically unusable , cause are very often.

There appears to be different Versions of Visual Studio; mentioning the Specific One MAY
help in resolving the problem . For the "2005" version, it is recommended to follow what
Microsoft says at msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms246604(VS.80).aspx .
