I just up dated my gateway p-6825 to 4gb ram ad am now thinking of jumping up to vista 64. I have a copy my friend bought when he got his now laptop which already cam with vista 64 on it and where he opened it could not bring it back so I got his brand new copy. My question is what speed is your pc and how is it runing vista 64 is it slow at all or any issues? My gateways Processor is a 1.5GHz Core 2 Duo T5250 and Graphics are a Integrated Intel GMA X3100 i think I should be fine to run vista 64 I just want to be sure before I go install it and I don't have the power to run it right.

How Well Does the 64bit Version of Windows VistaRun on Your Computer

I looked up the processor, it does support x64, so you are in the green. Your computer can run in 64-bit just fine, probably not all the time tho, depends on your applications, software, and drivers.
There isn't much of a performance issue, just drivers. You will probably spend some time searching for x64 drivers for all the driver dependent hardware.
And then there is that small compatibility issue that has plagued vista x86(32bit) and will probably become more of a nuisance during the installation of some component.
I'm probably going to live in 32-bit for a while longer and then maybe move to x64 when 128bit processors start rolling out.
Hopefully windows 7 will be better and more useable than vista.
