Gentlemen and or Ladies ,
How can I transfer the data - ( Contacts and Appointments) on my Palm Tungsten E2 to
my wife's new Tungsten T3 ?
I am using a Dell desktop running Xp and use the "Palm Desktop" as my back-up file.
It would be preferred to have both PDA's backed up to the same file if or have access to the
same file if that is possible.
Any help you could provide would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Zinfan

In theory, just sync it with that computer but make sure to use the same Hotsync ID on both Palms. In theory, that should do it. I have never tried it, per se...at least no on a regular basis. I have that when getting a new Palm device and need to the get the stuff on the new device from the computer...just used the old Hotsync ID and it worked just fine. I just have never done it will two devices on an active, regular basis. Should work, but you might encouter a few "kinks" at times.

Smax13, thank you for your prompt response.
I have tried the hotsync on the same ID but, my stubborn Palm software recognises the new hardware (the T3), and then asks if I want to create a new account .
If I do not, it then shuts me down. If I create a new acct. , which I have tried, the system will not let me access the data on E2 file.
Any other thoughts?

Strange. From what I recall (it has been more than a year since I upgraded devices and had to do this process), I had the choice of either creating a new Hotsync ID or use one that was already created. I would always choose the later.
While not a solution that you were looking for, you can always export the stuff from the one ID and import them into the other ID. Would certainly work for the first time...doing it on a regular basis might be a pain in the rear.
FWIW, I will note that I do NOT use the Palm Desktop...I use Outlook for contacts and caledars, thus I am using the Outlook conduits...don't know if that might be the difference between your experience and mine or not.
