I have a Sony Vaio AR190G with a built-in card reader. I put in a 4GB Sandisk SD card and my computer refuses to recognize it (using Windows Vista Home Premium). I have read several posts on the internet about other people having this issue but have no solutions thus far. I have been to sony's e-support and could not find any fixes there either. Wanted to use it as Readyboost cache...

flashcards aren't really designed for such a thing. (limited write
cycles) Plus, the write speed is so slow compared to the hard drive.
~7-8mb a second vs 50-60mb a second. Idk the write speed of your hard
drive, but it'll be much faster than flash.
Your card reader might not be SDHC compatible. 2gb is the limit.

Do you get any sort of error message when the card is plugged in ?
This is what you can try- plug in the card and then check in the device manger for installed drivers for this card. Update them from there. There should be no problems using flash cards with vista.
