I am trying to install Windows Vista in my 2-year old Windows XP base PC to set up a dual-boot system. I already upgraded my computer to make it Vista ready. I even ran it through a Vista Upgrade Advisor and it passed with flying colors. I created another partition in my hard drive dedicated for Windows Vista only ( approximately 25 GB). I inserted my Vista DVD-ROM (Retail Version) in the CD/DVD drive and restarted my computer. The installation process started normally. The black screen where it says "Windows is loading files" appears. Then the screen where it prompts you to choose the regional and language options appear.. The next screen, you click the "Install now" button. I typed in the product key, accepted the Licence Agreement, and I chose Custom install. Next. I chose the partition in which I want to install Vista and the installation begins. The problem arise after the first time the computer rebooted during the installation process. It keeps coming back to the very beginning where I had to retype the product key an all the rest. It just keeps repeating over and over again after the first time it rebooted.

Are you sure , you are not repeating the install process by again presssing a key during the boot to again boot the disc and start the installation again?
If above does not apply to you.
Remove the vista disc and turn On the PC and see where it goes.
Any error messages in the above method ?
