My 98-XP-Vista network utilizes a Linksys NSLU2 that allows clients to share two USB drives. Setup and mapping went without a hitch on all three boxes, but after every boot on the Vista box, when the NSLU2 is off, I'm required to close a little bubble message, "could not reconnect all network drives" warning. This is like the annoying UAC bubble that has to be closed after every boot for those who've turned UAC off.

I've already tried unmapping and remapping without "reconnect at login" ticked. Using this technique on both the 98 and XP boxes, the drives stay mapped after rebooting even with the NSLU2 turned off. I simply turn on the NSLU2, and the drives are accessible. After rebooting the Vista machine, the "could not reconnect all network drives" bubble disappears but so does the mapping.

I thought that one of Vista's advantages over prior windows versions was its "advanced" networking properties!

I think this problem is related to a Vista networking
bug, not the NSLU2 device since Vista is the only OS exhibiting this issue.

Does someone know of a Vista registry tweak? Thanks in advance.

I don't know if there is a registry tweak or not, but I have one for a drive in a machine that is currently not connected. I just ignore it and a few minutes it goes away. It's not that large a balloon. I don't think it's a bug, as you have a drive configured in your setup that it cannot find, it is simply notifying you.
