I recently got billed, through a third party vendor that PCTOOLS uses, for renewal of software that wasn't requested. Tried calling them(PCTOOLS), the number listed is not in service. I was wondering if anybody else has encountered problems with them..

Hey jinbogh1!!
Welcome to PCWorld Community!
Yes, I have been tagged ONCE. There two ways of changing THAT preference
which you or me were not aware of.
The first way is to contact them @
Now , when you make the request to STOP them from billing you Automatically
make sure that you let your intentions be absolutely clear that under no circumstance
you want them to bill you unless you request them to subscribe you for another year.
The other way is to go to your account on the site of PCTools. Log in with your
particulars ( user name and password ) and then click on "MyAccount" and from there
you should see a "My Support" entry. This is part of the letter that I received from them
explaining how to reach them should the need arise. ( fat chance ).
If we can provide any further assistance now or in the future please contact
us at subscriptions@pctools.com] or
submit a support ticket via the 'My Support' section in [MyAccount .
EDIT :
I have been to PCTools and have effectively cancelled my latest Automatic Renewal
This is how it is done:
Once on the MyAccount page you must click on "My License" tab. From that page you must then click
on your active license number which will bring you to your Subscription Status. At the end of the
Status you should see : ( Modify ). Click on it and from the other page you should be able to change
your Status.
This is what you should see once you have changed your status:

They will send you an e-mail to verify that you really want to cancel the Automatic Billing.
simply click on the link and you should not be bothered by them again.
Hope this will help.
