My new C7280 is working fine as a stand alone printer, but am having some issues between my PC and the printer. I am still using Office 97 products (for reasons I won't get into here) in Windows XP Pro. I have got all features working between printer and PC EXCEPT I can not print from Word 97 to the printer (although I can print from Excel 97, Access 97 and all my other programmes). I can print to a PDF file and then print from there, but that is annoying. Either the document "hangs" at the spooling stage until I Ctrl/Alt/Del it, or Word simply closes down and the document disappears. It appears that this printer comes with particularly buggy software, which I installed from the HP site rather than the disc provided with the printer, as advised by various other users. Is anyone able to help with these specific problem?(NOte: I have managed to get it printing from Word using 990c drivers, as suggested in one forum, but this is also not solving my problem).

Hi Rosie and welcome to the PCWorld Communities. :D

First, some housekeeping. I have changed your Discussion title to give a clearer indication of your question. For future reference, please be as descriptive as possible in both the heading of your Discussion as well as the post itself. Also, Since you have two separate issues with the same printer, the troubleshooting may go in two separate directions. Please only post one question per Discussion. I have removed your second question from this Discussion. Can you please repost the second question in a new Discussion? This will prevent any confusion with troubleshooting and allow our members a chance to clearly see what your problem is and how it is being resolved.

Now, from the context of your post, it appears that you have visited other forum sites for assistance. Can you please detail all the troubleshooting steps that you have taken so that we do not duplicate work?
