I have a couple of silly questions:
How does the PCW Bot know what to call a discussion?
Some of the titles are kind of strange.... I mean, where does Olympics: So Far, So Good, So What? comes from???

How Does the PCWorld Bot Distinguish Discussions

Hi Adama. I moved this into the PCWorld Website Community. I am pretty sure about this but I will ask for Kellie to confirm this but the PCWorld Bot pulls the news articles from various sister magazines. The Discussion titles are variations of the news articles themselves.

Every time we publish an article on the website, a comment thread in the forums is created for it. This is done automatically by the PC World bot as part of the process of pushing an article live. The title of the thread is always the title of the article, and the first post always contains the same text, with the exception of the name of the article and link to the article. Those are, obviously, variable with the article.
Hope that answers your question!

Yes it does. Thanks for the heads-up, Kellie.
I sat there looking at the title of that thread, and thought That's a pretty clever title, if this is a Bot, how in the world he..er, it.. knows what to call it...? That's when I decided to post the question.
Duly answered. So Thanks MPH and Kellie! :^0
