I have received several emails that are sent to supposedly up date my security systems with updated downloads; however, I am very leary about downloading something that I cannot confirm.
What should I do in these cases; I don't want to download a "bug" or worse.

David -
Do nothing but delete any emails offering to "update" your computer. No operating system or software manufacturer updates via email. This is most assuredly an attempt to get you to install malware. You are right to be leary. Good day.
