A f iend of mine here who is a pro tech told me when they get a comp in to clean they blast it with canned air, (carefully I hope). This makes sense to me to dilodge dust and etc. What about extraction? When I vacuumn my carpet I want to remove that which I have dislodged., not blow it all over. in fact he said they dont like the lil electronic vacs. Any thoughts on this? How do I clean the comp myself?(Carefuly, of course)

Thanks

reason Tech don't like idea of electric Vacuum is that it can cause Static charge to motherboard, when it happen, your computer will instant become huge paperweight. same with soap and water.

Canned AIr is best way to go unless u have Air Compressor (free assume u have this machine lay around otherwise $200+ from store), u can use it at 10 to 20 PSI unless I am wrong.

I use a 40-gallon air compressor. Cans? Don't need them.

Hi ArticSid,

Canned air is the best way to clean out your PC, there's stuff like dust bunnies, etc., that could get lodged in places where it could cause problems for your PC.

I have a laptop, and I clean it on Sundays - the screen, keyboard, trackpad, even the outside gets wiped too. I use the canned air to clean, in short bursts, the keyboard and the bottom of the laptop too.

The first time that I did it, I was flabbergasted to see how much crap flew off my laptop! :0 So, ever since then, it's a regular weekend ritual.

It's like the question is it better to leave your pc always on or turn it off when not in use. Many different opinions about that one.
