Hey Everyone!!
OK, we don't have much time left! I just now stumbled upon
one heck of a deal for students from Mr. Gates. WOW! He is
offering "Office Ultimate 2007" for students at a very attractive
price. This is the offer 'Office Ultimate 2007" for only $59.95.
I would jump on this if only Bill would offer us POOR Canadians
the same deal. There are other deals on this site but, I will let
you check it out for yourselves.

Hi Flashorn,
It looks like a great deal, but it's only for Students. You must have a valid ID from a school to be able to purchase it at that price. That leaves non-students out.
And, I just uninstalled the one they forced/downloaded to my computer without my permission, so I'm not too keen on MSFT Office anyway.
For right now, I'm happy with OO! :p

Hey BAMT!!
I only posted this deal for the students but, maybe more
for the parents looking to buy new software to go along
with the new notebooks they Have to buy their children
when college starts. I don't think OpenOffice can be used
easily in college or University. The formats would probably
conflict. I don't know how much Office Ultimate would cost
in real world money but, I'm pretty sure you would be saving
a bundle on this deal. There is also more deals to be had
on this site offered by MS. I think that all in all you could be
ahead by taking advantage of these deals.
Thankx for your input BAMT.

Hey Adama!!
This is why I said, in the heading Only till Sept. 8. This is meant for the
Parents that have to provide their children with the right software for
school be it College or University. And if you Do have a child going to
either, that means that by ordering through your child's ID you would also
benefit by not having to PAY the full retail price. Plus you could order other
software from this page to install on Your PC or notebook.

The cut-off date for this offer has long passed. This post is to ward off any fears anyone might have concerning Bill Gates and Microsoft have any altruistic feelings.
I doubt that that many students will have their student IDs issued and have an opportunity to rush it home to Mom and Dad before 08 September. With a later deadline, Microsoft might have been able to sucker even more families into obligating themselves to use Microsoft products. Students don't need Office unless they submit their papers electronically. I don't think that will be a common practice anytime soon. Open office will work fine in institutions that allow electronic submission of papers.
Why would a parent have to buy a laptop? A classroom full of clicking keys during a lecture? Not in this life time.
A second hand computer running Linux and Open Office will work well. That computer configuration and might even become a fad. A small cost up front with no software updates will look much smarter than a laptop running Microsoft Office and Vista.
