Heilsa!
A friend of mine has a Bluetooth car stereo, DVD player in his Truck and we are wanting one application, preferably free, that can convert WMV video files to MPEG video format so we can put them on our USB sticks and play them on it. It doesn't play WMVs. Does anyone know of such an application? Now if one doesn't cost that much and you know it will work for sure and we can maybe try it out first then we might purchase it. I looked the Bluetooth up on the internet and it will play, or so it said, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG3(of course) and MPEG4.
But, I ended up with "Videora ipod nano converter" on my PC looking for some type of converter in another situation and it turned out that it was not what I needed. I left it as I might end up with an ipod one day you never know. But I used it to convert one of the WMVs into an MPEG4 video file to try it out on this "Bluetooth stereo" and it wouldn't pick it up when I hooked my USB stick to it. Now there are several formats of the MPEG4, that files can be converted to. But I might be and probably am just barking up the wrong tree using the "Videora ipod converter" as it converts files to be used on an ipod and might not be usable in this situation, even as an MPEG4 file.
So can anyone help us out here?

Hi
I use SUPER for all coversion stuff. Its free and powerful. A bit complicated as compared to other convertors but is easy.
If you are willing to pay , i would recommend the Total video convertor - http://www.effectmat...ideo-converter/ .They have a trial version also.

Thank you for the very quick response. I am of going with the Super and try and use it, I have a couple of questions though. One "is MPEG, MPEG1" as I keep seeing MPEG, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4 and of course MP3 and on the CD with videos on it that came with the Bluetooth, the video files say MPEG in their properties. Are these MPEG1s? And if not you think that bluetooth will play the MPEG1s or 2s?
Two, can you give me any pointers as to the use of this SUPER application as you said it to be a little complicated? If you so desire that is. I read most about it on the site but it does look a little complicated for a novice like me.

The different MPEGs differ in their compression ratio, frame rates and other properties. An easy way to check what your player will play is to convert and try playing it. Start with MPEG-4 and then MPEG-2. Leave MPEG-1 . mpeg-2 is considered much better than mpeg-1.
I said SUPER is a bit complicated but i also said it is easy.It seemed a bit complicated on first use to me as it differs from other converters in the way it drags drops files , left click menu , right click menu , etc. You should have no troubles using it without any help guide.
