In the September issue of PCW Erik Larkin opines that Firefox 3 is the best browser. I couldn't agree less. Since "upgrading" from Firefox 2 the browser has acquird a new "trick". When I try to open certain web sites (the PCW home page, for instance!) the browser instantly shuts down without even giving the lame "apology" it used to give when it did so. I'd estimate that 20-25% of the web sites I've tried to open cause this behavior. My son installed it and has had the same experience. Unless someone has a brilliant solution, we're going to have to revert back to Firefox 2.0. I am running XP Pro

Hi Snorg,
I don't have Firefox. But lately, when I log into my Yahoo email account, I've noticed there's a small link at the top left of the home page saying Yahoo recommends Firefox 3, get it here... I saw that and just had to laugh!
Looks like the all-mighty-FF is having some problems with version 3, eh?? :p
ps: BTW, did you see the gift I left for you at the Talk... thread?

I may be one of the few that actually went to FF3 early on. The only real problems I had were related to posting images onto the PCW community. In FF2, I had no problem posting multilpe images, but in FF3 the first went without any problem, but after uploading the second there was no way to select it and post it.
I went back to FF2 and will stay there until I know the problem has been solved. It was a hassle to have to close FF3 and open IE7 to complete the posting of multiple images. I think most of my machine (both XP and Vista) are at 2.0.0.16 now.
