It's weird because it only appears in my new posts since I got it to work!

Hi Grr8,

Sorry you've been having problems with your sig. Have you asked one of Admins, Bill Cappel or Kylenstone about it?

Hi again, RG,

Well I have my phobu account open and I'll try posting the pics here. Let's see if it works.

Ok, THAT didn't work! BRB

That's the background I used for your sig, as you can see I also used the Aggie proverb for you.

These are the Russian bears. Had to take them out of the snow and into your sig... turned out to be no minor feat.

This is your aTm Association logo. You had mentioned that you were looking for it in maroon in a white background, so this is the one I found.

I would guess that it has to do with the conversion of the old posts somehow...do not ask me how/why that would be...I dunno.

In the feedback section someone mentioned fixing the coding.

Adama you think you could make me an Obi Wan Kenobi signature? Something non intrusive possibly layered images of classic Obi Wan maybe with a quote? a banner type <<<<>>>> longer then taller. I understand if your busy.

Yes please (the in blue part).

There are going to be some additional guidelines posted soon that will cover signatures...so, it would be wise to try to keep the height of signature images on the smaller side (height wise).

Hi Auro!!

I'm so happy to hear from you! Obi Wan, huh? yeah, I can certainly try my hand at it, but idk about the banner size, I'm soo not used to working that small.

But, I just made a sig for RGreen that measures 200 x 450 which looked pretty good for the forum - he has since resized it by 10% so it's a little smaller than that, but it still looks good. Does that sound ok with you?

I'm going to add some info for my msg to RGreen and then I have to run, but I will do my best to get it done for you by the end of the week, if that's ok with you...?

OK, so the forum guidelines are posted...there are here: Forum Guidelines

You should also see a link to them on the top of every forum page right under the pull down menu with your user ID on it.

This is your aTm Association logo. You had mentioned that you were looking for it in maroon in a white background, so this is the one I found.

OMG... I thought I could just edit this msg but I couldn't find the Edit thingy! Oh well... let's move on, shall we? <_<

Like I said in my PM, I didn't know if you were going to like it because the background is such a dark maroon... That's the reason I added my own texture to it, which gave it a bit of a richer, reddish color and made the bears and the Navy wings stand out with more of a golden hue...

That's also why you're finding things in there... the texture is an antique parchment paper with a border and with faint lit candles in it. It gives some of my artwork a really rich color, plus I like the border.

Aaahhh.... the magic of texturizing stuff!! LOL :D

The aTm logo over the US map was an absolutely real treasure find! I also put it behind the one you can see, but it's with a different layer mode and opacity, so that it changed things a little bit. I wanted to tell the story that the aTm was a part of your life, in the past... with the Navy wings, Scout logo more of the present... and of course, the bears are always a part of your life. Does that make any sense?

I used Serif PhotoPlus X3 to do all the cutting out stuff, checking the position of all the elements, and sizing and resizing a bunch of times (the sizing was a little bit of a problem because I had to make sure that the finished product was 200 x 450.) I also played around with the text, to make sure that it was going to work fine (that was a few hours worth)

Then, I finished it off in Photoshop Elements7 (another few hours too) almost 6 hours in total. Once I got it to Elements the challenge (because of the dark background) was to blend the elements so that they'd show up but weren't yelling at anyone! heheee

I think what took the longest was the text... finding the right font, the right placement and the right opacity so that it'd show up even in a smaller size (I was working in a 300 x 675 size canvas, so I could better see what I was doing.) Then the next longest was the aTm logo, because it looked too white! :o so, again, more playing with layer modes and opacity to get it just right.

Then I resized it down to 200 x 450 size, made it a png file to make sure it always stays with good colors.... and that's it!

Phew! I hope I didn't bore you with all that information. LOL

I don't think it's a problem per say, I think it's just the new forums.

You are only able to edit your own posts for a period of time (I want to say it is like 30 minutes). It is meant to be there long enough to go back and edit typos or other errors that you notice after hitting the post button.

Hi Grr8,

Yeah, maybe you're right. The new sigs seem to be showing up in the new messages, but not in the older ones... <_< It looks weird when you go from a message that was posted a month ago when you know you had another sig, but there's nothing there...

I think our brand-spanking-new software is kind of limiting in some ways.

Hi Coastie!

Yeah, that was taken care of. We were talking about the fact that any new sig will only show up on the new messages, not globally on all of them, like in the other forum.
