You sure they didn't use an abacus.

:^0 An Abacus ? We were a little more advanced than that, :^0 . When I was in the Far East that is what they used to ring up sales with.

Lol are you serious? Which countries?

The two that come immediately to mind is Hong Kong and Bangkok. I don't remember if I saw those things in the Philippines, Taiwan, or Japan.

The bigger cities, weird. I don't remember them in the Philipines, if I did it wasn't many.. maybe just maybe one in a small grocery store.

In the 14 months I was stationed in the Philippines I never saw one either. While I was never really in Manila (spent some time in an aircraft at the airport after dropping off a passenger), I did do some shopping in Baggio, and a few other cities out away from Olongopo. We would take VIP's up to Baggio, and would do a little personal shopping while waiting. Filigree silver work is something to behold. I brought my mother back a number of items, some of which I now have.

Dear Mods:

Sorry guys, but would you mind splitting off this current discussion about abacus, etc., into its own discussion? or, into the Talk... discussion? Please.

Thank you!

Sorry Adama, I'll eat the blame for that one as it started on a silly comment i made back up in the post in a response, and cuased things to veer off course my appologies as I would like to see this thread take off in the manner that it was intended. coastie

I can only branch one post and not the section of posts. I figured you wouldn't mind, but since you do lets try to keep it on topic, if anyone wants to continue the conversation you can start another thread in the general forum.

Hi Coastie,

Here's your resized pic. Anytime you need anything resized, just come on by, leave the link or the pic, and I'll be glad to do it for you.

That's part of what I do at SolarWings too, anyways.

That's a gorgeous pic, Coastie! Could you do a whole thread on that thing? I think it'd be really interesting to know about it. :)

OFF TOPIC

I've been having a heck of a time uploading/inserting pictures and even PCW's emos on any post. :( It seems to take forever.

If you're continuing to have this problem please post in the PCW Website forum so we can address it without hijacking this thread.

Thanks,
Bill

< breathe in deep >

So, you're into Dragons? Dragons.... as in Kaiba's Blue Eyes White Dragon? (example below) or as in Aragon?

Posted Image

Sorry, I don't have a pic of any other Dragon, I will go looking for them, though.

One last thing, just in case I need to make a texture/background - what's your fave color? Reds and oranges... or all colors of blue... something else?

I'm so excited! I'm celebrating by having Pepperoni Pizza and Haagen Dazs ice cream for dessert! :p

Thanks for reminding me. I've got some fresh strawberries and whipped cream, so I'm going to have Strawberry Shortcake instead of my Ice Cream cone. I got some "Shortcake" ( actually Pound Cake) while I was at the store today.

Eragon type, but nothing that depicts them as evil, dragons aren't evil :P As for pics of them there are a lot to choose from. But the choice in the end will be yours. I have quite a number of them...

Fave color? hmm, all of them? i'm not much for picking favorites lol, orange, red, blue green black ect.
