How Delete Locked Files From External Hard Drive

I have a Western Digital 500Gb hard rive that is connected to Dell Dimension 2400 desktop. There are 3 folders that are locked by the operating system , and can not be deleted. Does anyone know how to delete, or what programs will help me delete these folders from the external hard drive? Thanks for you help.

I found a program called unlocker that did the job!
