I have to disagree with loads of it, like for example, the PSP. "...continues to gain unique titles and cool features..." Can you name those tittles you're talking about? I must have missed out on titles because I have no idea what you are talking about! The only interesting ones are Patapon, FF7 CC and Star Ocean remakes.
Sony rather focus on forcing another media format and put many functions instead of pushing devs to make great games on it. After all isn't a handheld gaming system supposed to play games... So where are they?
Don't get me wrong though, I like to listen to music on it and the graphics are amazing, I'm just saying that I think the reason it doesn't sell as much as the DS is because it lacks the most important things, games and innovation.
Plus some things you don't mention about the PSP, it has many flaws. Like the battery life, using UMD (not only it takes much battery power but also creates stupidly long load times in certain games) and the screen (glare) improved on the PSP3000 but how many remodels are they going to release to increase their sales easily? The glare issue on the 2000 shoudn't had never happened.
Also about the Wii, you could say that it didn't have much 3rd party support some time ago, I wouldn't have disagreed, but it's getting way better now. It has fantastic tittles like the Conduit, De Blob, Zack and Wiki, No More Heroes, Fragile, Arc Raise Fantasia... And many more to come! Plus the full backwards compatibility is hard to beat! The Wii isn't only about casual cheap games anymore. You only have to open up your mind and eyes a little.
Sorry for the long rant but my opinion is that the article is a little flawed and seems quite biased (some Microsoft and Sony favoritism). It's just sad. :(

I pretty much agree with everything said here. I do think that Blu-ray and DVD have it over web based content. If you purchase 100 videos from I-Tunes and if folds you have 100 unplayable media files. With Disks so long as your DVD/Blu-ray player works you can play your movie at home or at a friends home.
Vista is a better OS than XP hands down. I'd say 3/4 of the negative crap you hear about it false or outdated info. Xp was horrible in looks and security.

Why would I want to focus on typing on my phone? When soon enough I will be able to dictate text and commands by voice. If I was so inclined to type on the go, I would roll around my desktop PC on wheels. Even my laptop has a scrunched keyboard. Conforming to smaller keyboards is not my idea of innovation. Replacing mini keyboards all together is. (There is an outside the box saying bouncing around in my head right now)
If you are a die hard text messaging fanatic, then I would not recommend the IPhone to you. I find it quite comical that when text messaging we even shorten our text to things like ttyl and tyvm. Heck some people even have macros set up to use entire sentences. Why? Because we really don't like typing on tiny keyboards. I can't remember any phone that I had in the past or now that I was like wow that was such a great experience typing a text message. Let's face it, things have less and less buttons on them these days. It's what we want. The less cumbersome anything is the more I am interested in using it. Cars with out keys, just a button to start it, great count me in. I want to push one button and have the information or task I seek have happen in one step. I am not in a race to see whose thumbs can go faster on a tiny keyboard that I really don't want to have in the fist place. My fingers are big, I'll live.

Vista under-rated. Come on. Everyone I know who swtched to Vista has gone back to XP, and since it's release all the the PC journals have been giving it mediocre ratings. Even with the release of SP1, I haven't seen a major shift in opinions over Vista. Now that XP is no longer available for general purchase, Vista is the "undersung underdog?" In fact a search of the PCWorld site for articles written by you concerning vista resulted in ZERO found. Where then is your expertise in this matter to give it such a rating as being slighted?

I read through all of the responses to this article. Any article like this has to be considered somewhat subjective. Given that, it's fine to state one's disagreements with the author. An article like this is meant to elicit a lot of discussion among the readers with their own points of view. However, two things must be understood. To respond by assailing a person's character is just plain wrong and a waste of time. It detracts from an otherwise intelligent, thoughtful exchange of ideas. Second, it is also difficult to take seriously those who fail to proofread their responses. Not only are the responses difficult to read, it diminishes the credibility of the writer. So, please use punctuation and a spell-checker.
One more thing. This past Christmas, I purchased a computer with Vista Home Premium. I also purchased an extra 1GB of memory to add to the 1GB that came with the computer. To date, there has not been a single performance issue; especially when you consider all the crap they download. In other words, increasing your memory to 2GB might make all the difference.

WOW.. I was really sold on this article and was considering some of the items until I came across the one item that discredited the works.
#9, Vista underrated? I think NOT!
I've been using Vista for well over a year and absolutely abhore it! IT is by far the worst OS I've had the displeasure of using and supporting. Sure, it's a little more secure but the annoyances negate any of the "improvements". The UAC alone has caused more of my clientele to call with issues than the fact that it is much slower, less user friendly, more restrictive, less stable and more confusing than XP.
Sure, if Vista is the first GUI you've ever seen it may look cool - with $$$$ invested in hardware but its performance and functionality is seriously lacking IMHO.

I like this kind of article (don't really understand the abusers) but I really do not understand the iPod/Zune section. If one follows the Microsoft Zune link provided, one finds that PC Mags own review of Zune is somewhat less than complimentary & also provides higher rated units including the iPod. I don't own either but have been thnking of buying an iPod. This comparison did not assist in the decision process. Tom

PC world's "the 10 xxx" is often good, but this time is unexpectably suck.
Overrated: Touch Interface; Underrated: A Good Keyboard
touch interface may feel weird, but not as bad as you think. And think a keyboard (actually keypad) for cell phone can never be too good (you want a really good one, you want a full size keyboard without the F lock).
Overrated: Nintendo Wii ; Underrated: Sony PlayStation Portable
First, you can't compare console gaming system to handheld one. Also, sales number say it all. Even the DS outsold PSP more than double. How exactly the PSP underrated? Also, Wii's target is casual gamers, which I think is more than hard core gamers.
Overrated: Facebook; Underrated: Multiply
You have got to be kidding me. Facebook is super hot now, even more than MySpace. I bet not many people heard of "Multiply". Even if facebook is overrated, I think FB deserves it.
Overrated: Apple iPod Touch; Underrated: Microsoft Zune
I personally think why MS push out Zune is because of the hot from iPod, and MS just want to share the market. iPod's touch screen and cool feature is super, Zune can only dream to beat (or why do you think iPod keep selling like crazy?).
Overrated: Windows XP; Underrated: Windows Vista
You have GOT to be kidding me... You blind or something? Compare to vista (which is a fancy garbage), xp deserves to be overrated even if it is. vista is a resource eaters, same computer and it is still slower than xp, exactly how underrated vista is??? My desktop from this summer is Q6600, 4GB DDR2, Geforce 8600 GT, I still use XP, very happy about it. I am not going to give myself unnecessary trouble by "upgrade" to vista.
Overrated: Streaming Video; Underrated: Blu-ray Disc
Streaming video is another way to do in the future. I myself would love IPTV. BD itself is fine, cost some more than DVD. The reason it is underrated is the player, $300-400 each. I bet if the player's price cut $100 or more, it will become more popular faster. I mean, unless you are so rich that you spare no expense.
