The -00UST0 at the end of your drive model is a concern. The drives I've done, or seen done were done with models that did not contain "-00UST0". I'm willing to bet that the -00UST0 is a revision change which "breaks" the hddhackr process.
Sorry to hear of your troubles.

I purchased a Refurbished Elite from Cunsumer depot for $200.00 with 120 hardrive.
It won't play old xbox games (Halo 2) but everything else seems to be fine.
I get this message
{font:Arial}{size:10pt}The game could not start. Please download the game again.{size}{font}

My testing (tech.redcat.us) was based on the WD1200BEVS drive. I have heard of people getting similar wd1200BEVS dirves and having problems. As for the 1600 or 2500, in theory you could get those to work, but they would still only be formatted at 120GB because of the firmware you reflash with. If/when MS releases a larger drive AND someone rips the firmware you'd be able to format larger. But that will also depend on the type of drive they use. If you search ebay or even froogle.google.com you can find a WD1200BEVS drive for around $50.

You won't be able to play old xbox games until you restore partition 2. (New 120GB Hard Drive) tells you how. Some of the other instruciton sets don't tell you this because prior to NXE the xbox would automatically format partition 2 for you.Now you have to format it using a PC and Xplorer.

You can recover your gamertag. if you do a full drive restore you won't have to recover your tag. If you're just putting in a new drive and not doing a data transfer then you might have to recover your gamertag, i can't remember but it seems to me that the 360 has enough internal flash memory to store some of your profile/theme.

Hi,
I have a question. My pc does not have sata controller but I ordered IDE to Sata converter, would I be able to use it or it has to be connected to a sata controller on motherboard?
Thanks.

I'm assuming that just about everyone out there already has an established Xbox Live account, saved games, etc. already stored on their current 360's hard drive.
So is there a way to transfer all of that data onto this snazzy new hard hard, or would you be just starting over from scratch?

There are ways to do this and it's not that easy, do some searching. There is also another problem of original xbox games not working and there is a way to fix that too.
