Good day!

After a routine reboot, all files (videos, programs etc.) including some shortcuts, disappeared on my desktop.only 3 shortcuts left. I have never had this problem before. I know that it's not the desktop shortcut cleaner, because my desktop had other kind of files. I checked if I was logged in as another user, but no, I was logged in as my user. Did anybody have this problem before? If so, I hope there is a solution out there.

Thanks for now

Alain

I have had a case where I lost everything but my wallpaper and a simple restart took care of it. As spike has suggested you should try a system restore to an earlier time. coastie65

There could be 2 reasons why the disappear:

1) Virus

2) Steadely crashing hard drive

So you need to backup your data ASAP (may try Windows Safe Mode - press F8 while booting PC) and bring your PC to Geek Squad in Best Buy for Diagnostics ($69)

The will tell you the real cause of your problem.
