I have a decision facing me, for my old camera has died. I am trying to find the best possible digital camera that I can that is less than $250. Since there are so many sites and advertisements for cameras that offer many of the same features, it is hard to find the one that can turn out the best images and video. Is there anyone who might be able to help me find the best one? I am currently considering the Canon Powershot A720 IS.

But from personal experience, the cams on the panasonic lumix line produce great pictures. (i own the LZ7)

I tried to look up the PS A720 at my normal haunts, Newegg, Best Buy, Circuit City and none had it listed. I found it on Amazon, but they think highly of it, then found it on Walmart at a good price. I like the large LCD preview screen.

I have a 4 1/2 year old Powershot A80 which takes excellent pictures, but is only 4MP. I read the reveiws on it when I went shopping and the only knock was that it ate batteries, but the AA batteries are not that bad when you buy in bulk. My preview screen rotates so when storing the camera in the case, it is covered. I have looked at the new cameras, but I really don't need a new one just yet.

I have been very pleased with my Cannon, but I have an older Kodak that is smaller and fits in a pocket easier. I thank as long as you stay with a traditional camera manf. and find one that fits you and is easy to handle, you will be ok.
