Hello,

I have an old computer that I've put XP Service Pack 3 on. It has Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX, Java 6 update 7, and Internet Explorer 7. However, when we try to watch videos on Nascar.com it says undefined and doesn't do anything. What have I forgotten to do?

Thanks,

Nascar videos require at least Adobe Flashplayer 9, and you should be good there with 10. Are you getting any other error messages?

Does your machine play DVD's? They require a codec, but I don't think Adobe Flash does.

Would you give us more information about the system - Make and Model, and how much memory?

I think the Youtube videos are different. Your specs would lead me to think that your system just may not have enough power. The memory (256MB) is the bare minium for XP. I have an HP laptop that came with 512MB (256 in a socket and 256 on the MB). While I was in the process of upgrading from 512MB to 1.25GB by replacing the one 256MB module with a 1GB modules, I booted it up on 256MB to see how it would react. It was dog slow, with a 3.2Ghz P4.
Memory may not be the only answer, but it sure wouldn't hurt, especially with the 1.5Ghz P4. The combination of the 1.5Ghz P4 and 256MB just may not be enough. Especially if you have (most likely) integrated video, then you really have less that 256 available.

Wow, that makes me sad. I have a 250GB external hard drive. Is there a way to watch through it? Or is it the same problem because it will come through my computer? Is there a way to put more power to the computer. It was a work computer and we were all on a server. But I really thought I saw Nascar videos on it. Maybe not. Any ideas?

In IE7, go to tools -> Delete browsing history .Then click delete all . In the next box , tick remove data stored by addons and then restart the browser and try again.

I just tried playing nascar videos on one of my PCs - P3 933MHz with 256 mb ram and the streaming was fine.

It's not the Hard Drive, it's the system memory that is low. They serve two different functions. The HD is for storing data, the system memory is for processing data, and video files are data.

I wasn't able to find where to delete data stored by add-ons.

If your computer with 256 mb ram works, wonder by this one won't...

There has to be something I'm missing. :-(

I did not try to run a video, just open the browser. It was so slow it was not enjoyable. I did not do a lot of experimenting. I just upgraded the memory and went on.

Hi MidnightMM. OK ...It turns out that you have to download their own player..( Call OpenCase Media Player ) about 13.5MB.

Even if you down load the player, then you have to open the account and buy the video that you want to watch..I could not find any free clips any where.

INcase you want to down load ....just click the GREEN "DOWN LOAD" on the up/left coner.

Have fun.

Hi Tech4me
Can you post a screenshot of the error message .
I had tried playing a video and it played fine without any account and any player download. If possible , post the exact URL of the page.

I had played the video from the same location that you have posted. Here is the screen-shot of the link given by you. It plays well.

I tried on Opera 9.6 and IE7 on XP SP3. Both went fine. Maybe some other members can try and report their findings. Lets wait till then.

Good Morning,

I've been following along with your conversations.....my other computer plays everything on Nascar.com and we do not sign in to anything. I just go to the site and play the videos.

I read somewhere to check to see if my firewall is blocking the downloads. I have AVG Anti-Virus software. Not sure how to do that, but I'll check into it when I get home from work. Seems like I wouldn't be able to see any Youtube videos if that was the problem. I don't know. But, it says to have ports 2200 to 2299 free for Nascar. How do I check that?

Thanks
