We'd love to help you, but we need more information. Could you please tell us:

1) In what application program do these dots appear? Please not that Windows XP is an operating system, and you don't create, edit, or print documents using the operating system. You do it with an application like Microsoft Word.

2) Where do these dots appear? On the screen or the printed page? In the middle of text? At the end of paragraphs? In the menus?

Anything you can tell us will be helpful.
