I am surprised that there is no mention of the Lenovo Ideapad series of laptops. You can purchase one of their models from anywhere from $400 to $700 depending on the model and configuration. The S10 is a netbook with a 10.2" screen, XP, 512MB memory, 80GB HDD, Web Cam, wireless G, Atom processor and is priced at $399. The Y510 has a dual core, wireless g, 3GB memory, 160GB HDD, DVD-RW, 15.4" LCD Screen, Web Cam, Windows Vista Premium, 3 USB ports, and is Dolby Home Theatre certified meaning it has 4 speakers and a sub woofer integrated into it and the price is $600. You can get the Ideapad series of notebooks cheaper from tigerdirect and newegg than from Lenovo.
