Don't let Comcast fool you with this announcement. They already advertise up to 16 megs and they cant even manage to provide that for what they charge. I talked to a lady in coporate, Sandy. She gave me the typical nonsence speech about caring but could not solve my problem of only getting 750Kps speed. They changed the modem and that didnt work so they ignored my phone calls to try again and fix it.

I live in NM and I just ran a speed test to Los Angeles and it came out to 15175 Kbs.

Only a fool would spend $140 on that package that they don't need. Heck I won't even break 20GB of BW by the end of the money, gotta love the simple life.

Some people just have to have that speed and I'm one of them. Don't ask me what I'm going to do with it, but when it comes, I'll get it. LOL

Maybe, when they don't sell much of the fast packages, they'll realize that their cap is dragging on their business. Maybe they should keep the speeds the same and work on increasing their capacity so they don't need a cap.

Seriously, Comcast, all this is great and all, but if you don't get your sh*t together and put up an accessible bandwidth meter for your customers to use, you are going to continue to get bad press. Come on, what is wrong with you?

I haven't seen any speed increase on my Comcast connection, but I hear that there's going to be yet another rate increase next month. If my broadband and cable options weren't severely limited, I'd kick Comcast out the door.
