Heilsa!
I have an HP Pavilion 514n, running WindowsXp Sp3, with a Motherboard by TriGem Glendale this the Motherboard ID now after the BIOS upgrade 31891.HPD.0000.D.0310140908 . Dumbass me forgot to write down the original Motherboard ID beforehand. Here is what the HP site has for my Motherboard
h1. Motherboard Specifications, TriGem 2002052 (Glendale)
The Specs for it are located here: h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07813&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=296559#N1255
Now after the BIOS update straight from HP supposedly specifically for my machine it tells me that my CPU fan has failed, to get it serviced immediately and it is going to shutdown if I don't press F2.
Now, I am looking at the fan right now and it is running. So the BIOS messed up my system somewhat. Atleast concerning the reading of the CPU fan. What else did the BIOS update mess up? I did a system restore and that didn't help.
I did this because I just updated another BIOS on an HP 533w and all went well. Nice new Hp and Intel logo upon start up etc... So I came back home and did mine and all is not well.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to fix this situation?

Heilsa!
I found the cure! It is to stay away from what HP has. No, really over all I am pretty satisified with what Hp has to offer. All accept this situation and the one where there drivers for that Hp printer I had and got from their site messing up all of my USB ports etc...
Anyway, on with the show. I did a google and it sent me to, of all places, HP business support forums here: forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/bizsupport/questionanswer.do?admit=109447626[i1224797339849[/i]28353475&threadId=212736] and I got towards the end in my reading and it told the individual to access the BIOS, through F1 and press F5 and then answer yes to reset the BIOS to the default settings and then F10 to exit and save changes.
It worked! I am ok now. A little freaked out about it being the whole Motherboard, BIOS thing but I will get over it. Thanks anyway and if I wasted anyone's time, well I felt it to be a sort of emergency! I will mark this question solved! Thanks again!
