I agree with rtfire1, stand alone gps apps like WHERE.com for example, can greatly enhance the user experience on any of these phones.

"The AT&T and Sprint applications also verbally alerted me of traffic ahead; the warnings told me how far off the slowdown would be. The Verizon service posted traffic alerts only on screen--not good if you're driving alone."

This is incorrect info. Both my LG Dare, and my Curve 8330 with VZ Navigator alerts me audibly of traffic incidents and traffic ahead.

I wished they'd add voice directions to Google maps, but Nav4All and AmazeGPS are both free apps that have turn by turn voice navigation. My favorite is the new release of Amaze...even has 3D maps.

Agree, Google maps is great except for the lack of a talking voice. Windows Live Search mobile also works great, but again lacking the talking voice, and it even has voice recognition for the destination without any need to call a number.

Steve that was an excellent review. I agree with you, I think a dedicated GPS is a better option for me. I have Verizon cell service, which I'm satisfied with. I don't have a Blackberry or equivalent phone and I'm not inspired to run out and get one with VZ Navigator. Thanks again for an excellent review.
