It might just be me, but W7 looks pretty bad. All of the windows look cheap and unintuitive.

You know, I think I'll just wait until Windows 7 is actually released and I have a chance to try it out before I decide it's crap. Who knows? I could very well find out it's not. Just because Vista got a bad wrap doesn't mean that Win7 is going to be a loser.
For example, everyone is tooting XP's horn as to how great and stable it is but nobody bothers to mention it's on it's third service pack. Nobody bothers to bring up the fact that when first released (pre-SP1) XP needed all new hardware to run it, didn't support common hardware, lacked drivers and wouldn't run any DOS based programs at all. It was called "typically bloated" MS crap as well back then.
But now it's great, Vista sucks and that means Win7 will too...
...but nobody has mentioned Windows ME. It came before XP and it really sucked...so obviously XP will too.
Guess they were wrong.
I remember that all too well...I was there, I was one of those that did the testing. Can't judge any OS before it's released. Even MS can learn it's lessons. They have before.

Windows 7 isn't that bad IMHO, but the sluggish response and slow system initialization make it similarly irritating as Vista. When on XP, the machine in my sig boots up after about 5 and a half blue bar crosses, then shows the CAD screen. Login is instantaneous (less than a tenth of a second). In Windows 7, I see Starting Windows, then a while later the glowing orbs, and a bit later the lgoin screen show up. However, this login screen uses fancy shading effects and it takes over ten seconds to log in, not mentioning the slow reponse afterwards. They have the same 3rd party software installed, so it's definitely the OS.
