This may be from a 'jerk' asking about jerky video in the wrong forum.
I did 1st try to search forums to see if this query were already posted. No joy. I will accept any/all criticism as to how better to search.
My problem is 'jerky, skipping' video clips from I-net. Using Wxp get same jerkiness both FireFox & IE7 so expect problem is with my computer & seems to have begun after a recent Windows update. MS Knowledge Base suggested reducing graphics acceleration. Did & no improvement.
Any sage cousel? Please keep any advice down at my idiot level.
Thanx ............. fgc

Jerky Video

Tx for all the forum responses on my video problem. My system OS is Wxp Home. I'm on a 1.5 MB DSL. By jerky I mean the video clip stops & starts. I now find that this problem is only on CNN video clips. Further I don't believe I have audio problems as all my CD's play OK.
CNN says its videos are optimized for Adobe Flash Player. I'm playing them on Adobe Flash Player 10 which seems to have set itself as my default. I recently changed my audo set up to use ASIO4ALL. And since Windows Media Player doesn't support it I installed Foobar 2000 which I would prefer to be my player default but I can't seem to do that since it's not listed as a media player option when I go into Windows "Set program access & defaults". Also CNN may also refuse this player.
I did uninstall Adobe Player #9 & upgrade to #10. Still have same problem with CNN video clips.
Hope this is a suitable definition of my problem.

FYI ............. My latest R&D on this problem came from the Adobe forum. Advisor says FlashPlayer 10 is just too fast for my 1500kbps connection & my 448 MB processor. Suggested that I pause my download & let the packets load my buffers, then run. That seems to help some. Also said Adobe aware of this problem on those older systems which certainly can not be referred to as "screamers".
