I assume you have installed and are using the DVD Instant Recorder software which should have come as part of the "DVD Recorder" package (basically, it appears that DVD Recorder is just a package with a Dazzle DVC 100 and the DVD Instant Recorder software). Just hooking up the device will not do it...you need software that 1) will receive the video signal (the device is just converting it from a "TV" video signal to a "computer" vidoe signal that the computer can understand) and process it in "computer terms" and then 2) you need software that will convert it to a DVD video format and actually burn it to a disk in DVD-video format. The Instant DVD Recorder appears to do that all in one step. There are other way to accomplish the same end result as well as doing some editting of the video before converting it and burning it to DVD.
