How can I make windows logon automatically when I reboot? The only user account on this PC is non-password-protected but it still makes me choose.

This PC is running Windows XP SP3, 256 MB RAM.

Hi coastie,

There are no other acounts, but it still shows a welcome screen at bootup. There is only one user acount on this PC.

Hi number, I only have one account on here but when I go to User accounts it shows a guest account which is turned off. When I boot up, it goes straight to the desk top without any log in stuff. allthough I do get the welcome screen briefly before the desk top. User Accounts is where al that stuff is.

coastie,

The Guest acount is disabled, I also removed the password from a user acount which I did not create called "ASPI.NET Machine A..."; then I rebooted and the logon screen still asks me to log on to the only available acount. This is the only computer of mine that does this. Do you know why?

Hi number, when you go to user accounts, click the option to select the way users log on and off. make sure both are checked.

Ok, On mine, I am shown as OWNER - Administrator Account and the Guest account is turned off. Your Account should be shown as an adminstrator account.

Right coastie, Owner shows up on the logon screen as an administrator, that ASPI acount does not show up on the welcome screen but does in the User Acuonts applet and is a limited acount. The Guest acount does not show up on the logon screen but does in the User Acounts applet. Owner is the only one that is available on the welcome screen.

All the accounts should be shut off. I think i deleted the extra accounts in the lap top my brother brought to our mother. I was trying to make it as easy as I could for her as far as stuff goes. I even set up her internet so that she can click and go straight to her homepage with out a log in.

Ok. That's my normal thing, just delete it if I don't need it. I guess you can mark the question as answered and assign the points, although alot haven't been assigning points lately. :D coastie
