One thing to be careful with. If you use an inkjet printer, even though you might have it switched off, it still needs to clean the printer heads on a regular basis. My brother printer does this by itself even if ithe power switch is off. I used to use the switch on my surge protector to power everything off, but my other inkjet printer heads clogged up within 2 months because it could not go through it's timed auto cleaning.

The idea of getting a payday loan to head to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is somewhat appealing, but you may want to cool your jets there, turbo. The show is following current economic trends – that is, it is shrinking. Salespeople are going to be on the warpath, and will be trying to get anyone within earshot interested enough, to buy something, and boost their bottom line. A person that is already strapped for cash would do best to stay away. However, if you've managed your finances so that you've stayed ahead of the curve, or have gotten assistance with a payday loan, then you may want to go ahead and go for it, as many of the devices that will be featured are geared to be energy efficient money saving appliances. However, as we all know, you have to spend money to save money.

I know that my computer is a major power hog!!! But thats how I built it with 4 hard drives, each having its own fan and a major power supply and not to forget about all the extra goodies installed. But I do hate the hastle of turning it off and needing7 to boot up all the resources and devices again....TOO LONG. Just put your computer in Hibernation mode and you will save a lot of money! It still uses electric, but brings it down to a minimum. Also if your are updating your computer and its going to take a long time always shut off the monitor! This is key to save money!

I used to leave my computer on 24/7 when in college! In my apartment, I would shut my bedroom door and keep the heat in from the computer and wouldnt't have to turn on the electric heat! What a trade off that was :)

I got sick of my PC shutting down during the day just cause I wanted a coffee but at night I want it to power down if I'm not around. So I wrote a small program to manage the power scheme and now I am giving it away.
