Usually I never have problems with stuff like this but I installed AVG antivirus and it scanned about an hour ago and found a virus in C:/Windows/dashboard.exe and I'm guessing it deleted that file. Well now a windows file protection error keeps coming up asking me to insert my windows xp professional cd. So I mounted the cd that I used to install this version of windows and it says it isnt the correct cd. Any advice?

Seems to me the Best Place to Start would be the FREE AVG Forums at
http://freeforum.avg.com/] , probably their "[Removing Viruses, Virus Removal Tools ".
When an antiVIRUS program "detects" something, it always asks the User to make
a Choice of several Options, and "Delete" is always the worse One to Select . Should start
by "Quarantining", then investigate the "quality" of the "Detection" by starting on the
program's Online Support Forums, IF they exist . There is some place in that program
that should tell you the SPECIFIC 'Name" of the "Detection" !?
