I'm starting to use Piriform's Defraggler. Does anyone know which does a better job? Is it a bad idea to use both alternatively? Any other thoughts?

it seems to be a new product and their website higlights the fact that it can defragment individual files and folders also . Most other defragmenters do the job for a whole partition or drive.
I dont think this idea is good enough, and defragging entire drive seems good to me. And for that purpose , there are plenty other good tools (some free ones also) available.

Hey number6!!
To tell you the truth, I have tried defraggler out of curiosity. I wasn't too impress
with it's performance or the time it took to defrag my HDD. I used it on Vista.
I use a weekly schedule to clean and defrag the HDD. JKDefrag is the one that I prefer.
It is fast and nothing is left undefragged. The only grip is that it is not a very pretty GUI to look at.
I also used / tried Auslogic. it is fast but, does not completely defrag the HDD. There is always some
files left undefragged. Auslogic requires an install. JKdefrag does not.All of these are safe to use with Vista.
The best that I have tried would have to be Diskeeper Lite Read a review here.
Unfortunately , the Lite version is only compatible with Windows 2000/9x/XP. No Vista in the free version.
For that , you Must buy the Full version of Diskeeper which has different versions for every flavor of Windows.
