Microsoft should dump their piece garbage application Office 2007 and go back to Office 2003. It's pretty sad when you need a roadmap to find functions that have been in use for over 20 years. The only good thing about 2007 is the ability to produce pdf documents and Nuance is cheaper.

@deedee33. It is done by clicking the ‘Office’ icon / Save As / Tools / General Options.

@GorgeClimber. Once getting us to Office 2007 I would not go back to 2003 at all. You have to get the hang of it, but once done I and every coworker get the job done faster and easier.

Hey, if all you wanted was the PDF ability, download and install Primo PDF. That works great!

This article is a little lame as these changes are pretty obvious to anyone clicking the "options" button. There is an actual program that will customize tabs: Ribbon Customizer. It's available in both a free and "pro" format--and adds to the ribbon of all Office products. It even has a "Classical UI" ribbon tab. I was hoping this article would deal with deeper customization issues.
