You can check out hulu and also VeohTV They're FREE and they carry all kinds of TV shows, sports, etc. I also think they both require you to download a Player to be able to use their service.
However, for your protection, if you're going to download a Player to be able to view their content, make sure you download it from their website, and not from other places.

I also agree that before you start looking for websites to watch TV on your PC, you should download the McAfee SiteAdvisor.
That lets you know right away if the website is reliable or not.
